A Virtual Death and A Real Dilemma

Hi,

So this article showed something that I take into consideration whenever I read something online. Trolls are talked about in the article and trolls are people who say certain things to grab peoples attention or to have people believe them. Most of the time they are no expert in the subject matter they are talking about. This is something that I can not stand. I have a very hard time believing anything I read online. When reading online I try to go to sites that seem to be very professional or at least well known. Especially when it comes to medical advice. Just think about someone in desperate need of help of some sort or have a simple question a real doctor can answer, yet they read false information and then problems or harm are done to them. I try to stay away from question and answer sites such as Answers.com. I find that people online think they know it all and i find that those people sometimes can have bias opinions or do not really know every aspect of what they are talking about. Although I may be wrong because I am on a blogging website talking about something I may not be an expert in myself. Yet if I am wrong does that prove my theory wrong or correct? think about it lol

  1. Interesting point you make! It is hard to remain credible on the Internet, especially since so many people who use the Web fabricate the things they post. Even when you are being truthful, people are suspicious nowadays and always wonder if you are a troll.

A few days ago on Reddit, someone posted that his wife was missing and was asking for help on how to locate her. Some people suggested he file a missing persons report with the police, while some people actually demanded proof that he wasn’t lying. He proved he was indeed not making it all up, and was offended that people would accuse him of lying when he was already going through so much stress.

  2. Great post! I usually do not believe everything that I read online because it’s hard to tell if the story or news I am reading are true or not. For Example, users’ on Facebook can provide fake information themselves and we can’t tell if the users’ profile status is true. I have to agree with you about “people sometimes can have bias opinions or do not really know every aspect of what they are talking about.” When I say something and people don’t believe me, I don’t care because I know that I’m telling the truth and that’s all it matters. Everyone have their opinions and there’s nothing you can do about it.
