5 Ways to Improve Facebook Saftey

As we all know facebook is very popular. We share information about our lives and make information available on our page that we may not share on a daily basis in face to face communication. This is why we also would like to have some privacy as well on facebook. We have friend request we can accept or ignore, privacy settings and we can even block a certain person if we want. Although that's not all!! In the article 5 Ways to Improve Face Safety it talks about extra ways we can keep our safety on Facebook. The one main point i found the most effective is reporting abuse. Its tough to stop abuse and is seen A LOT! So instead of just looking at it or even laughing along with it just report it! Reporting doesn't take a lot of effort and is a great way as a whole to stop abuse.

  1. Hey Southpaw,
What I find funny is how people clamor for more security and complain that people can find things out about them through their Facebook. The simple thing to do would be to STOP putting your life story on the internet. Don’t put things you don’t want people to know on such a huge outlet like Facebook. I find it hilarious when people complain about things like this and ask Facebook for more security. This article in particular just shows the lengths that Facebook has to go in order to appease the masses and enable people to continue to put things on the internet that they don’t want other people to know.

  2. I agree with Jrod. The people who ask for security the most are the ones that put the most on Facebook. It is simple to just not put as much information out there. Don't put personal information on your profile if you don't want people to steal your information. Facebook however has stepped up their security and I really like the new privacy settings. Being able to block people, block people from viewing certain status updates and keeping photo albums private are some features I really like. The easiest way to secure your profile though is to just simply keep important information off your profile.
